Workshop on Sustainable Reporting and CO₂ Emissions Calculation in the Textile Industry

On 17 June 2026 in Skopje, a practical workshop was organized by the Textile Trade Association – Textile Cluster in cooperation with SIPPO, focusing on sustainable reporting in textile companies and the application of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) principles, with an emphasis on CO₂ emissions calculation and circular economy practices.
The workshop aimed to support textile companies in preparing and entering data into a customized GHG (Greenhouse Gas) calculator, as well as introducing the VERDEinMED handbook for the transition towards a circular textile sector and the Knowledge Platform.
During the event, the methodology for emissions measurement (Scope 1, 2 and 3) was presented, followed by a practical session where participants worked on entering real company data in order to simulate ESG/CSRD reporting requirements.
The event contributed to strengthening companies’ capacities for sustainable reporting, improving understanding of environmental impact, and promoting the adoption of circular and sustainable practices in the textile sector.
Within the workshop, the MISSION4WATER project was also presented, with the aim of familiarizing participating companies with the recently published open call, which is focused on supporting innovative solutions for reducing microplastic pollution in water resources within the textile industry. The objectives of the call were explained, along with the opportunities for participation of companies and research partners, as well as potential areas of collaboration in the development of technologies and practices for more sustainable water management systems. The presentation contributed to stimulating interest among participants in engaging with the call, as well as to raising awareness of the importance of developing environmental solutions and innovations in the textile sector, with a focus on protecting water resources and promoting sustainable industrial practices.
