MISSION4WATER DISSEMINATION ACTIVITIES - Sustainability and microplastic water pollution

The Textile Trade Association – Textile cluster in the scope of IPA ADRION Mission4Water project organised and hosted dissemination activities for the wider population in purpose to raise awareness regarding microplastic pollution in to the water coming from the production and washing of polyester products. The dissemination was done during the Public Talk Marathon organised by Fashion Weekend Skopje. The public talk involved the project coordinator Ms. Natasha Sivevska – textile engineer and environment & social compliance auditor and well recognized designer Ms. Irina Tosheva, expert on green economy and sustainable development.

The dissemination on the project activities was done with the accent on the project objective: Multidisciplinary strategic partnership providing innovative solutions to reduce pollutants dispersion in water. The presentation focused on development of green innovation and clean technologies, with particular attention to reducing pollutants dispersion in water.

“The future of fashion is inseparably linked to environmental responsibility, and we need to act sustainable to protect our environment for us and for the future generations” said Sivevska, while Tosheva emphasized the role of education and design in inspiring systemic change and the need of closer cooperation among education institutions and SMEs.

Their discussion united the fashion and environmental sectors, offering practical examples of how creativity can align with ecological responsibility. Both speakers brought unique perspectives—Sivevska from a strategic, industry-driven viewpoint, and Tosheva through the lens of design innovation and sustainability education.

We hope that this dissemination activity will collectively raise awareness about sustainability practices and water pollution, and will contribute to the MISSION4WATER initiative in the Adriatic-Ionian region on behalf of North Macedonia concluded Sivevska at the ned of the event.
