МISSION4WATER WORKSHOP / MATCHMAKING EVENT "Sustainability Reporting and water pollution" 20.02.2025 Skopje, North Macedonia

As part of the project “Multidisciplinary strategic partnership providing innovative SolutIons to reduce pOllutants dispersion in WATER – MISSION4WATER” financed by the Interreg IPA ADRION Programme, on 20.02.2025 the Textile Trade Association – Textile Cluster (TTA-TC) organized a workshop and matchmaking event (as a joint event within the trainings organized as part of the activity A2.2. and within Activity 3.2 Matchmaking events for Cycle one), bringing together key stakeholders (representatives from ministries – Economy and Environment, the textile industry SMEs, universities, as well as NGOs) from North Macedonia to address one of the most pressing challenges in the textile industry: sustainability practices and water pollution.
The event focused on fostering collaboration between businesses, researchers, public institutions, and NGOs under the 4-helix model, with the goal of driving innovation in sustainable practices and building awareness regarding water pollution. Participants explored strategies for reducing pollutants in natural waters, sustainability reporting, and best practices in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) frameworks.

A key highlight of the event was the promotion of Innovative Co-Labs, a concept central to the MISSION4WATER initiative. These collaborative spaces encourage synergy between different sectors to develop pilot projects and innovative solutions aimed at minimizing the environmental impact of textile production.

Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to engage in matchmaking sessions, fostering potential partnerships and project collaborations. The event also served as a platform to share the Call for Innovative Projects, encouraging stakeholders to propose solutions that align with the project’s objectives. Through initiatives like this, MISSION4WATER, funded by the Interreg IPA ADRION Programme, continues to support SMEs in the Adriatic-Ionian region in developing sustainable and effective approaches to pollution reduction. The event hosted 20 participants.
