Textile Cluster held a workshop on "Environment for Social Entrepreneurship, Waste Management and Access to Funds for Innovation and Technological Development"

As part of the project "Development of new creative products using textile waste, incorporating social entrepreneurship dimension and improving the image of the textile industry" - implemented by Textile cluster with the support of the Ministry of Economy in accordance with the support and development program at the cluster association for 2018, on 24.12.2018 in Skopje was held a workshop on "Environment for Social Entrepreneurship, Waste Management and Access to Funds for Innovation and Technological Development".

The project "Development of new creative products using textile waste, by incorporating the dimension of social entrepreneurship and improving the image of the textile industry" aims to increase the competitiveness of the textile sector by incorporating the dimension of social entrepreneurship, using textile waste and increasing the attractiveness of the textile sector for young unemployed. Social entrepreneurship involves the use of innovative practices in the production and sale of products and / or services in the local market for revenue generation that will be used to accomplish a social mission in the country.

The workshop presented the results of a survey among the members of Textile cluster, which included questions on social entrepreneurship, waste related issues created by textile companies and their management, as well as suggestions for improvement of the project. image of the textile industry in Macedonia.

The concept of Social Entrepreneurship and its legal framework was also explained in more detail, with the aim of promoting social entrepreneurship in the textile sector, encouraging the use of waste in textile companies to develop innovative textile products, changing the perception of the textile industry, ie. improving its image in society by incorporating a dimension of social entrepreneurship and so on.

The workshop also presented current opportunities for applying for grants supported by the Fund for Innovation and Technological Development, with the aim of easier access to funds from the Fund for Development of Innovative Products and greater utilization of FITD funds for textile companies.
